Whale Watching and Nature Cruises

Vancouver Island is surrounded by ocean and is home to many marine animals. Killer whales, grey whales, stellar sea lions, sea otters, puffins, and dolphins abound. There are three distinct areas we visit to view this wildlife depending on the time of year:

Victoria - South Island - $79.00

There are 3 "Pods" or groups of whales numbering between 20-60 members per pod, which total about 100 resident whales. So come aboard and join our certified naturalists as they introduce you to many members of our diverse marine community. Half day excursions.

Tofino (Clayoquot Sound) - West Coast - $69.00

Migrating Grey whales from March until November, occasional Humpbacks and killer whales. Scenic Clayoquot Sound, Meares Island, by tour boat or kayak. Half-day excursions depart at 10 a.m.

Discovery Islands - Johnstone Strait - $75.00

Campbell River area is a growing nature and whale watching area. Telegraph Cove is the gateway to Robson Bight Ecological Reserve, a Killer Whale Reserve where whales come to broach on the shore. Half-day excursions depart at 9 a.m.

Black Bear Eco Adventure

Victoria Area - Southern Vancouver Island is home to thousands of Black Bears. These beautiful creatures are interesting to watch as they explore inter-tidal zones and fish in the rivers.

We often see Black Bears hiking on the Juan De Fuca Marine Trail but when we really want to watch them close up we offer this tour, walking along the rivers near Port Renfrew or Lake Cowichan depending on weather and recent bear sightings.

This 8-hour adventure features amazing nature, black bears fishing along the river, an informative guide and a superb lunch.

Departs daily September 15th-November 15th

Grizzly Bear Eco Adventure

We view grizzly bears, whales, eagles, sea lions, seals, sea otters and more on this wildlife safari. 7 days and 6 nights of amazing adventures, fantastic meals and exceptional accommodation. Your naturalist guide leads the way north from Victoria to the alpine forests of Mt. Washington to the historic boardwalk community of Telegraph Cove.

Day 1 -


Picture hereDepart Victoria at 9 a.m. and hike the Coastal Trail at East Sooke Wilderness Park.The trail winds along the rugged coast and allows for breathtaking views overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Olympic Mountains in Washington State.

The trail contrasts greatly throughout the journey; one minute you are in a dark lush rainforest and the next you are on the sunny bluffs overlooking an ocean vista.

We keep an eye out for sea lions, seals, otters, and whales. Eagles, ravens and deer are a common sight. We then drive 3 hours to our alpine Headquarters at Mt. Washington. We have a welcome feast and hot tubs overlooking the ocean and mountains. Overnight Mt. Washington at the Bears Den Lodge.

Day 2 -

We walk out the door of the Bears Den Lodge and hike in the alpine environment of Strathcona Park. Beautiful forests and meadows are in every direction. We visit many alpine lakes and take in awesome scenic vistas.
Overnight Mt. Washington.

Day 3 -

We depart early and drive to Campbell River. Here we join a 3 hour Marine Wildlife tour that explores the waters around Quadra Island. We watch for Orca Whales, Sea Lions, porpoise and other marine wildlife.

We then drive to the charming town of Telegraph Cove and our Waterfront accommodation in the historic cabins on the boardwalk. Overnight Telegraph Cove.

Day 4 -

Picture hereWe depart early for a 2 hour boat trip over to Knights Inlet and start our Grizzly Bear adventure.

We look for Grizzlies in the rivers and estuaries and also look for black bears and whales on the way home. A full day of wildlife viewing and scenic beauty. Overnight Telegraph Cove.



Day 5 -

Depart by truck to the west side of Vancouver Island and depart on a 5 hour sea otter excursion in Quatsino Sound.

We look for the large "rafts" of these playful and inquisitive animals. We also look for bears, whales and porpoises.

Overnight Telegraph Cove.


Day 6 -

Depart down the island to the town of Qualicum Beach. Evening walks on the beach. Farewell Feast. Overnight Qualicum Beach.

Day 7 -

Picture hereDrive to the town of Sidney and tour the Gulf Islands by sea kayaking. Our safe double kayaks can transport beginners and even first-timers to the scenic archipelago within Gulf Island National Park. Picnic lunch on an island and we explore the secret coves and inlets of Canada's newest National Park. Finish at approximately 3 p.m.

5 minute drive to Victoria airport or Ferry to Vancouver. We say our good byes until your next Island Adventure Tour!

Grizzly Bear Wilderness Adventure

Day 1 -

Picture hereWe depart Victoria at 9 a.m. and drive up the island to our alpine Headquarters at Mt. Washington. We stop along the way to view waterfalls, scenic vistas, giant trees, lakes and beaches.

We have a welcome feast and hot tubs overlooking the ocean and mountains. Overnight Mt. Washington at the Bears Den Lodge.







Day 2 -

We depart early and drive to Campbell River. Here we join a 3 hour Marine Wildlife tour that explores the waters around Quadra Island. We depart early for an 8 hour Grizzly Bear adventure. We look for Grizzlies in the rivers and estuaries and also look for black bears and whales on the way home. We depart in a comfortable covered boat and then utlilize a small zodiac boat when we get to Knights inlet. A full day of wildlife viewing and scenic beauty.

Overnight Telegraph Cove.

Day 4 -

Picture hereWe depart at 10 a.m. for the drive down the island. We can drop people off in Nanaimo or Victoria. We arrive in Nanaimo at approximately 3 p.m. and Victoria at approximately 5 p.m.

We then say our good byes until your next Island Adventure Tour!


All-inclusive costs include transportation, marine wildlife tours, guides, Park Fees, accommodation, all breakfasts, all lunches and 2 dinners.
$1,099.00 plus 7% gst
$999.00 plus 7 % gst for children under 16 years of age.

Minimum group size is 4 people. Departure dates are flexible. As soon as 2 or more people book we schedule a departure and then try to fill up the trip.
